Patients 18 years and older.

Visits are only via secure online platforms. No in-person visits at this time due to pandemic.

Not always We look at your whole picture to come with a treatment plan which may or may not include medications.  You are encouraged to comply with treatment plan and will always be educated on various care options.

We submit your prescriptions electronically during your appointment and they are usually ready for pick up at the pharmacy of your choice that same day.

We can easily and discretely refill your medications if needed.

If you are traveling out of town, we can send your prescription to another pharmacy (only within the state of California) upon request.

If the medication you need is out of stock at your current pharmacy, we are able to easily resend your medication to a pharmacy that does have it in stock, keeping you from waiting days or weeks for medication to arrive.

Once we receive notification from your pharmacy that a Prior Authorization is required, we will submit the necessary paperwork to your insurance company. Approval of the Prior Authorization depends on your insurance company and may take up to 2 weeks.

Early prescription refills require authorization from your  provider. While we make every effort to complete the request as soon as possible, same day approval and processing are not guaranteed.

After you schedule your first appointment you will be sent an e-mail inviting to you register with our online portal where you can complete necessary patient intake and disclosure forms, choose payment options, and familiarize yourself with a multitude of features. You will also receive step-by-step instructions on how to connect with the doctor via secure online platforms.

We take your medical and financial privacy very seriously. You can be assured that all telemedicine is done with the state-of-the-art HIPPAA-compliant software.  Your payment information is also secure.

No one but yourself can access or ask questions about your personal and health information. You can, however, sign a release of information for so that your details can be shared with your loved ones or other healthcare providers.

Absolutely.  We believe you understand yourself the most and would be happy to coordinate your care with outside providers (only with your permission).

Generally private 1-on-1 sessions are preferred to establish comfort and trust for our patients. However, in limited circumstances, loved ones can participate only if the patient and psychiatrist both feel that the dynamic supports a therapeutic relationship.

Shafa psychiatry center is in network with Anthem California and in the process of getting credentialed with other Major insurances. Please contact office for further questions.

We accept all major credits and debit cards. We do not accept checks, wire transfers, Zelle, Venmo or PayPal as those are not yet secure methods of accepting payment for HIPAA-related medical services.

 

  For out of network , at your request, we can provide you with a superbill that contains all diagnoses and billing codes that your insurance provider would require. You can submit the bill via apps or ask your insurance provider on best method of submission.

In most cases, you can get full or at least partial reimbursement.  Because coinsurances are specific to healthcare plans, your individual health insurance provider is the best resource to answer this question.  Remember you can negotiate with your health insurance provider.

Yes, our services are eligible to be reimbursement by the above plans.

We urge you to call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room for immediate attention.  If there is a concern for your safety, we are obligated by law to call 911, however, it’s best if you go voluntarily.
